Quickstart
Try the workflow, then give an agent a real task.
1. Take a safe tour
After installation, run:
airship tour --runtime stubThe tour creates temporary sessions and files, demonstrates a decision and its answer, then cleans up. It does not require model credentials or an agent CLI.
2. Start an agent
Sign in to your chosen runtime first. From a repository you want the agent to read:
airship start helper --runtime claude --cwd "$PWD" --prompt "Explain this repository"
airship statusUse --runtime codex to choose Codex. The session continues in tmux while you use other tools.
3. Open the session
airship attach helperDetach with Ctrl B, then D. Detaching leaves the agent running. In the Mac app, select the session to read Chat or switch to Terminal.
4. Send a follow-up
airship send helper --text "List the next three useful improvements" --queue--queue waits for a safe delivery point instead of typing into a busy prompt. Check Needs You in the app when an agent needs a decision or permission.
5. Add capacity when you need it
Replace worker-ssh with an alias from your SSH config and the directory with a repository on that machine:
airship host add box-a --ssh worker-ssh
airship doctor --mesh
airship start remote-helper --runtime codex --host box-a --cwd /path/to/repo
airship status --host allhost add deploys airship. Install and authenticate the agent runtime on that host yourself. Read Machines before using a remote host.
Finish a session
airship stop helper
airship close helper
airship history lsStop ends the running process; close puts the session into history. See Concepts for decisions, history and moves.
